Kevin Nicholas: IFMGA Guide
Nationality: NZ
First worked with Alpine Guides: 1995
At age 13 a Canterbury Mountaineering Club course started Kev's wayward career in the mountains.
Kevin is an upbeat and a cheery companion to spend time with in the mountains. So much so he has been dubbed "the people's cousin" by fellow guides. Even after a long hard day in the hills he's still got the energy to come out with some cheeky remark, before thrashing you at scrabble...
His international mountain experience includes rock climbing in Australia and the USA, several seasons working in Antarctica, and a season of climbing and ski touring in France and Switzerland.
Kevin has missed some of the last few NZ summers, heliski guiding with Himachal in India. During the NZ winter he is a regular with both Methven and Wilderness Heliskiing.
He's as adept on a snowboard as he is on skis, and a dab hand as a photographer and writer. Read about Kevin's split personality here.
