Employment with Alpine Guides

Alpine Guides employs appropriately qualified guides to work in our summer climbing operations. As New Zealand is part of the IFMGA/UIAGM certification system, we can only employ guides with full or part certification.

In our winter season (July through October) we normally have enough New Zealand guides for existing operations. In the summer we invite guides from overseas to assist in meeting the demand.

In order to provide information on guiding in the Mount Cook region (for overseas guides who may be interested in working here) we have put together a briefing paper.

Please note that we do not offer "internships" or work experience. The responsibilities involved do not fit into our guidelines for safe operations.

Please do not apply for guiding work unless you have full or part alpine guiding certification under the IFMGA scheme.
